I would give it 5 stars with the exception of the software install. I had a regular Displaylink adapter installed before I jumped up to the 4K version and that caused a lot of problems on my Windows 10 system when I was trying to install. It took several hours of screwing around with the software drivers to get it right, but once I got it working, BANG! it delivers a very crisp 4K image on my browser and 42 inch 4K screen. Considering I only spent around $250 for my Samsung 4K screen, this little device really delivers when driving your computer to a 4K display. Very happy now!Considering the fact that 4K video graphics cards are wildly expensive and I don't do gaming, this device really hit the spot and eliminates the need for multiple monitors for me. This is the sharpest image I've ever gotten out of my PC.Some reviewers have said that there are performance issues when watching Youtube videos but I haven't seen much of an issue. Again, I'm using my computer for programming and web browsing, not gaming. If that's your need, you'll really like this device once you're able to install the device drivers properly. Can't beat it for the price.Works fine with my LG 25inch monitor. My computer is about 8 yrs old and it projects decent image quality on the screen. Must download the latest driver from their website. Only gripe is I have to wait for the computer to recognize the device whenever I turn the computer on and takes a while. But I guess it is my old computer matter not the device itself.I used this product with you 20136 Retina MacBook Pro (MacBookPro13,2) to circumvent Apple's restriction of only using two external monitors (despite being in clamshell mode). I will say that this product is rather annoying to set up (honestly I have no idea how I got it to work - something with DisplayLink and using it as a separate display). But my goodness, the latency is pretty much non-existant! It does have a few little latency spikes but this is more than satisfactory for a workstation! Just be sure to dedicate a thunderbolt port to this device, it did not like being plugged into a Thunderbolt 3 dock.My fourth monitor sat idle for a very long time. It pained me day after day to see it and not use it. After searching long and hard for an external video card, the IOGear was selected out ot the 50+ cards reviewed. It arrived the very next day, thanks to Amazon's next day delivery. After unpacking and installing it on a laptop with windows 7, the latest displaylink USB Graphic Software had to be downloaded and installed for the card to work as expected. The maximum resolution for my particular monitor model is 2560X1440. It is a pleasure to say this card works perfectly. On my windows 10 laptop, it works great and downloading a driver was not necessary.this thing is amazing. I bought a 49" 4k TV to use as a monitor. The native video card in my 3 year-old laptop did not support UHD, so I tried this. Worked right away. Far better than I expected. Just follow the quick start instructions: install the software, restart the computer, hookup the IOGEAR adapter to your TV and it works. I spent $400 for the 4k monitor, $35 for a USB 3.0 EC card (my old laptop did not have 3.0) and this really amazing IOGEAR gadget and now I have the equivalent of 4 24" monitors on my desktop.Works as intended(once you go their website and update the old drivers CD that come with unit). That said,it seems to cause massive lag on whatever computer you're attaching it do.The mouse/keyboard is slower. Playing anything that has to deal with video/audio gets you choppy sync issues. While I personally like the idea behind this product,I cannot support it based on this experience. Especially after attaching it to FOUR different computers(desktops/laptops),and getting the same result. None of which were older than 5 years.Expand your horizons...but always do it in style. There are many companies who make this type of device but the only one that matters is IOGEAR.These guys make the most dependable and reliable equipment with excellent customer service to back up and rare issues that pop up.Our VP was super happy to make use of this device to get another display and be even more productive.Don't hesitate -- buy this device and look good doing big things with that extra display. People will be jealous! This was a great way for me to add a second monitor to my laptop docking station.Meh. Not bad. I have to unplug and replug it in often enough that I don't use it anymore. I went back to an older version of the IOGear usb/hdmi
